So, Le Tour de France, I'm sure you've heard of it. It's when a load of guys cycle around France really really fast. However did you know that this year the tour will start in England? In fact not just anywhere in England but in Yorkshire and stage two will start in York, the city where I live!
Because yellow is the official colour of Le Tour, yellow bikes have been springing up all over the place. After we went to Brymor ice cream parlour, we drove around Yorkshire and took photos of all the various bikes and posters.

What do you think about all these yellow bikes?!
Hello! I work in York and I saw one of the yellow bikes the other day and it took me a while figure out what they were for! It wasn't until I went to Masham at the weekend and they are going crazy with the bikes that I worked it out! Doh!
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah :) Don't worry you're not the only one, my friends also had no idea why they were all over the place!
DeleteWhat a quirky and fun way to document the sport! Seems like you've spotted quite a few bicycles.

ReplyDeleteThey are! Whoever first came up with this idea is a genius!
DeleteI didn't know that! Is there any special reason why it starts in England? And why York?
ReplyDeleteWell every year it starts in a different country and this year England was voted for! It goes through various towns and cities, stage one starts in Leeds and stage two starts in York :)
