Travel Tuesday: enjoying the cherry blossom

Today the sun was shining and it was warm enough to go out without a coat on. And that's not even an April Fool. Hard to believe that a couple of weeks ago I was wearing my thick winter coat.

To make things even more perfect, the cherry blossom is now at it's peak and it looks beautiful. In Japan viewing the cherry blossom is a big deal. This is probably because it only stays at it's peak for a few days and then some gust of wind will come and blow it all away. This means that during those few days anywhere where there is cherry blossom there will also be throngs of camera wielding tourists. Today was no exception.

Anyway, despite the crowds I really enjoyed it. I walked along Philosopher's Path which is one of the most popular places for cherry blossom viewing in Kyoto.

Are the cherry blossoms blooming where you live?

Squinting because of the sun.

Kawaii!

For some reason, at the end of Philosopher's Path there were loads of cats. This is just a few of them.
